Tottenham target Juventus defender Gleison Bremer, eye Vicario
Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be targeting Juventus defender Gleison Bremer. The Premier League club could also involve Italy goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario in the negotiations.
Cristian Romero, the 28‑year‑old Tottenham captain, is widely expected to depart this summer. Romero attracted criticism after travelling to Argentina for a Belgrano‑River Plate match while his teammates faced Everton in a crucial Premier League fixture.
Bremer’s contract contains a €58 million release clause that activates between 1 July and 10 August. Juventus are said to insist on the €58 million figure or a sum close to it for the 29‑year‑old Brazil international, who features regularly in Serie A. The club also seeks a new goalkeeper to replace Michele Di Gregorio, with Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez identified as their preferred option.
Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham may use Vicario to offset part of the Bremer fee. Juventus’s demand for the full €58 million suggests the Italian side will only consider a deal if the price is met.
