Tygo Land set for another loan to FC Groningen from PSV

Tygo Land, the 20‑year‑old midfielder, is expected to spend the 2024‑25 season on loan at FC Groningen after PSV confirmed the move, according to the Eindhovens Dagblad. The Dutch side were impressed by his 29 Eredivisie appearances and three goals last campaign, where he earned a regular place in the second half.

Groningen were impressed by Land’s performances last season and quickly indicated a desire to retain him on loan for another year. PSV appears to have accepted this request, paving the way for a second consecutive loan spell.

Midfield competition at PSV limits Land’s prospects of regular playing time. Coach Peter Bosz frequently deployed Noah Fernandez and Joël van den Berg at the end of the previous campaign.

During his initial loan at FC Groningen, the 20‑year‑old earned a starting berth in the second half of the season. He accumulated 29 Eredivisie appearances and found the net three times.

PSV announced on Sunday that another loan period is in place for Land. Goalkeeper Niek Schiks also extended his contract and will join RKC Waalwijk on loan for the coming season.

The arrangement is set for the upcoming 2024‑25 campaign. Both clubs anticipate that regular Eredivisie action will aid Land’s development.

The loan news was reported by the Eindhovens Dagblad. No further details on contract length or financial terms were disclosed.
