United intensify chase for Dortmund midfielder Nmecha

Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, with the English club reportedly valuing the Germany international at around £52 million. The move comes as United continue to search for midfield reinforcements ahead of the new season. Patrick Berger reported that United are stepping up their pursuit of Nmecha. He added that Christopher Vivell, Manchester United’s Director of Recruitment, remains in close contact with the player’s camp. Berger also noted that Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the situation. Their interest underscores the regard in which Nmecha is held across Europe. Despite the attention, Nmecha is happy at Dortmund and fully focused on the World Cup with Germany. He has indicated no immediate desire to leave the Bundesliga side. With the start of the new season, Nmecha is set to move into the salary bracket previously occupied by Niklas Sule. This potential wage increase reflects United’s long‑term view of his value. Berger warned that any move remains at an early stage and United may need patience. Dortmund are understood to be under no pressure to sell, and elite interest could raise the £52 million fee and expand Nmecha’s options.
