Valente begs Stengs to stay as Feyenoord’s future hangs in balance
Today, Feyenoord midfielder Luciano Valente posted a plea on social media for teammate Calvin Stengs to remain at the Rotterdam club, urging “blijf nouuuu”. Valente’s request came after Stengs netted the opening goal in a recent practice match against FC Dordrecht.
Valente wrote his comment beneath a post from his teammate, explicitly asking “blijf nou”. The future of Stengs remains unclear.
The photo showed Stengs in the practice match against FC Dordrecht, where he made a strong impression. After twenty minutes he scored the first goal for Feyenoord.
Last season Stengs was loaned to Italian side Pisa FC, but injuries limited his playing time there. The loan followed a previous season where injuries also disrupted his second year at Feyenoord.
Under manager Arne Slot, Stengs proved a valuable asset for the Rotterdam side. Slot’s tenure saw Stengs contribute regularly.
In the 2023-2024 campaign Stengs featured in 29 matches for Feyenoord, scoring six times and providing thirteen assists. Those statistics underline his impact when fit.
Valente’s social‑media appeal highlights the uncertainty surrounding Stengs’s contract situation as the club decides on his future.
