Valentijn Driessen Hails France’s 3-1 Win Over Senegal

Valentijn Driessen praised France after their 3-1 victory over Senegal on Tuesday evening, highlighting Kylian Mbappé’s two goals and the overall superiority of Les Blues in the World Cup group stage. The win moved France closer to the knockout phase, while coach Didier Deschamps saw his side finally fulfill his promise of attacking play. France opened the match against Senegal with a sluggish first half before dominating the second period. Kylian Mbappé netted two goals to secure a 3-1 win. Journalist Valentijn Driessen described the French side as standing out "with head and shoulders" above the competition. He highlighted the talents of Mbappé, Doué, Dembélé and Barcola, noting that coach Didier Deschamps finally delivered on his promise of attacking football. Ajax analyst Mike Verweij agreed, warning that fielding four such attackers makes a team hard to stop. He cautioned that France must survive a potential poor performance, as a similar situation could arise against Algeria. Despite the victory, France did not claim the top spot in Group I. Norway later defeated Iraq 4-1, with Erling Haaland starring. Les Blues are scheduled to meet Iraq on 22 June, and four days later they will face Norway. The upcoming fixtures will test whether France can maintain their attacking edge.
