Vampeta claims Raphinha faces family, financial problems

Former Brazil World Cup winner Marcos Andre Batista Santos, known as Vampeta, alleged on the ‘Red Cast’ podcast that Barcelona forward Raphinha is dealing with serious family and financial difficulties, while Brazil confirmed the winger will miss the upcoming match against Scotland due to a muscle injury sustained against Haiti. Medical staff reported that Raphinha suffered a muscle injury to the back of his right thigh in the group‑stage game versus Haiti, leaving the field after feeling discomfort. The exact severity was not disclosed, but the federation said he will follow an intensive recovery programme while remaining with the World Cup squad. During the ‘Red Cast’ episode, Santos claimed the Brazilian winger is confronting a family problem and hopes a move to Al Hilal could improve his situation. He said, “Raphinha is facing serious family and financial problems. He’s praying he can join Al Hilal; he’s having a really tough time.” Igor Padilha, a close associate of the player, publicly rejected the allegations, demanding clarification. He said, “You’ll have to explain these lies, my friend.” To date, neither Raphinha nor his representatives have issued a comment on the claims. The Brazilian federation’s statement focused solely on his physical condition. Raphinha will continue training with Brazil’s World Cup squad as he works toward a return. His availability for future matches remains dependent on medical assessment.
