Vitor Reis trains to add weight for Manchester City next season
Brazilian centre‑back Vitor Reis is preparing to return to Manchester City after a season‑long loan at Girona. While on holiday, the 2025‑26 La Liga campaign has prompted him to work on weight, diet and monitoring to meet Premier League demands.
During the 2025‑26 season, Reis featured regularly for Girona in La Liga. He accumulated valuable first‑team minutes by playing week in, week out.
Daniel Bocatto reported for Brasil that Reis is training alone to add weight and strength. The defender acknowledges that increased physicality is essential for the rigours of the Premier League.
Reis is also adjusting his diet to consume healthier foods aimed at lean muscle growth. The nutritional plan is intended to support his goal of gaining weight without sacrificing agility.
Regular blood tests are being conducted to determine whether supplementation is required. His recovery periods and sleep patterns are monitored throughout the off‑season to ensure optimal readiness.
Technically, Reis is described as elegant, composed and adept at reading the game, timing challenges and excelling in one‑on‑one duels. Physically, he must mature to cope with the demands of a Manchester City side that currently hold the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
