Yasin Ayari scores early for Sweden vs Tunisia

Yasin Ayari opened the scoring for Sweden in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup against Tunisia.

The 22-year-old struck in the seventh minute and chose not to celebrate the goal.

Graham Potter’s side went on to win 5-1.

Ayari was born in Sweden to parents of Tunisian origin and had previously been close to joining the Tunisian national team.

Before the match he told the press that choosing between the two countries was easy because he was born in Sweden and had represented Swedish youth teams.

He celebrated his second goal after completing a brace later in the game.

The match photograph was taken by Julio Cesar Aguilar of AFP.
