Ballon d’Or winner Kane on track for extension with Bayern Munich

Harry Kane remains the face of Bayern Munich and is about to extend his contract until mid‑2029, reports transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. The extension comes directly after Kane’s Ballon d’Or win, making him the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001.

Negotiations in final stage

Bayern confirmed on Wednesday that the negotiations are in the final stage. CEO Jan‑Christian Dreesen said he is positive and that Bayern is working on the details. An official announcement is still pending.

Ballon d’Or triumph and productivity

Kane was announced on Monday as the winner of the Ballon d’Or, overtaking Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal. This made him the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to claim the award. The achievement underlines his status as a world‑class striker.

In the summer of 2023 the English striker moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich for around €95 million. His original contract ran until the summer of 2027, but both parties now want to extend it.

In recent months Kane was repeatedly linked with a possible transfer to Real Madrid or FC Barcelona. Both Spanish top clubs inquired about his situation last summer, but the Englishman's focus remained on Bayern.

According to the supplied figures, Kane has delivered 156 goals and 40 assists in 159 matches for Bayern Munich. His productivity makes him the leading attacker of the German champions.

With the extension Bayern Munich want to keep their main striker for a few more seasons. The club hopes he can continue his impressive statistics and further fill the trophy cabinet.
