Cata Coll stays at home, the RFEF summons Eunate Astralaga

Video shows the women's national team training in front of the fans in Las Rozas, while preparing to fly to the United States and play their first friendlies of the season. Amid the atmosphere, goalkeeper Cata Coll announces her withdrawal due to quadriceps discomfort.

The morning training took place under the watch of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which confirmed that Coll will not travel to the matches scheduled for October 10 and 14. The decision comes ahead of the preparation for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, where the Spanish women's national team aims to compete.

The RFEF has announced that, following Coll's withdrawal, goalkeeper Eunate Astralaga of Athletic Club has been called up as a replacement. Astralaga has already played 22 matches in the national team's youth categories, making her an option with junior experience.

Other changes to the squad

Mariona Caldentey also withdraws due to discomfort, and the coach has included Natalia Ramos and Begoña Villarrubia on the list. These additions expand the group that will travel to Washington.

The official statement indicates that Coll will return to FC Barcelona's squad in the coming hours and therefore will not travel to Washington. The information was released on Tuesday, October 6.

The absence of Barcelona's goalkeeper forces the coaching staff to adjust its planning, but the presence of Astralaga and the newly called‑up players maintains the squad's depth ahead of the World Cup.
