Fluminense reject €12 million bid for midfielder Martinelli

Fluminense have rejected a bid for their first‑choice midfielder Martinelli, with offers reported around €12 million earlier this year deemed too low. The club declined the proposal despite interest from Italian clubs in the market, Fluminense’s first‑choice midfielder and remains a sought‑after player on the European market. His profile has attracted attention from clubs outside Brazil.

Rodrigo Dias, reporting for the Ligados no Flu channel, said an intermediary representing an Italian club approached Fluminense with an offer. The approach was made through the intermediary rather than direct club contact.

The proposal was reportedly too low and was rejected by Fluminense. Both the club involved and the exact figures were not disclosed.

Inter Milan recently showed interest in Martinelli. The current offer is believed to come from a second Italian team also interested in him.

The intermediary’s bid originated from this second Italian club, which has not been named publicly. No details on the club’s identity were released.

According to Dias, Fluminense received offers in the region of €12 million at the start of the year, but turned them down. The club has not disclosed any further information about the offers.
