Gomez completes move to Padova, heads to Forte Virtus in the Emirates
Alejandro “Papu” Gomez has decided to end his spell at Padova: he is already in Abu Dhabi for medical examinations and the contract termination is expected before signing with Forte Virtus, a club in the top league of the United Arab Emirates, according to Il Mattino di Padova.
Contract termination and imminent signing
The Veneto club has agreed with Gomez on the contract termination, which is expected to be signed today, as reported by Il Mattino di Padova. Immediately afterwards, the Argentine player will sign the new agreement with Forte Virtus, an Emirati league club with which he has already reached an understanding.
Gomez is currently in Abu Dhabi, where he is undergoing the medical examinations required to obtain playing eligibility. The checks will also assess the condition of the ankle operated on in April, following an injury that kept him out for most of the Serie B second half.
The April operation was necessary because Papu had lost the chance to play for almost the entire Serie B second half. This situation drastically limited his on‑field presence during the season with Padova.

During his stint at Padova, Gomez made just nine appearances, without scoring any goals or providing assists to teammates. His involvement was therefore limited compared to the initial expectations.
New adventure in the Emirates
Forte Virtus currently sits in fourth place in the standings after four league rounds. The club, owned by former Hellas director Maurizio Setti, has already added several well‑known faces of Italian football to its squad.
In defence there is Alessio Buttaro, formerly of Palermo, while in attack play Emanuel Vignato, coming from Bologna and Pisa, and Fabrizio Marazzotti, formerly of Crotone. On the bench, the Italian Andrea Tedesco manages the side, who was previously Devis Mangia’s assistant.
With the termination signed and the medical examination completed, Gomez should finalize the permanent move within a few hours, ready to don the Forte Virtus shirt and contribute to the Emirati club’s project.
