Porro eyes La Liga comeback, with Barcelona leading

Pedro Porro has decided that he wants to return to Spain and leave Tottenham in one of the upcoming transfer windows, preferring a La Liga club. The right‑back has not ruled out a departure already in January, but he is under contract until 2031 and is recovering from an injury after four matches this season.

Preference for Barcelona

According to El Nacional, Porro is prioritising a move to Barcelona, which has already contacted his representatives to assess a possible transfer in January or in the summer. The Catalan club appears to be the player's top choice for a return to La Liga.

Real Madrid also continues to show interest, should a deal with Barcelona not materialise. Porro said he will keep the door open for the Merengues before making a final decision.

The defender has already played in La Liga for two teams – Girona and Real Valladolid – before making his mark at Sporting between 2020 and 2022. That experience in the Spanish championship reinforces his desire to return to the level he already knows.

In the current season, Porro has made four appearances for Tottenham and is still recovering from an injury that has kept him out of action. His contract with the English club runs until 2031, giving him leeway to negotiate a departure without haste.

With the January window approaching, Porro's future will depend on negotiations between Tottenham, Barcelona and, potentially, Real Madrid. In the meantime, the player continues to focus on his recovery to be available when a transfer opportunity arises.
