Socar global energy partner of the Italian national teams from 2027
ROME, Sep 27 – The FIGC has signed a new cooperation agreement with Azerbaijan’s national energy company Socar, which will become the global energy partner of the Italian national teams from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2030, with the possibility of extension until 2032.
Duration and possibility of extension
The agreement covers the period from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2030. The parties have provided for the possibility of extending the collaboration until 2032. The document was signed by the presidents Giovanni Malagò and Rovshan Najaf.
According to the FIGC, the agreement represents a strategic value for the entire Italian football movement. It strengthens the international positioning of the Federation and confirms the ability of Italian football to attract globally significant partners.
The partnership is based on a shared vision of continuity and ambition, with prospects that can go beyond the initial four years. Socar is one of the largest integrated energy groups worldwide.
Socar and the Italian energy market
Last May Socar acquired Italiana Petroli (IP), one of the main energy operators in the country. The acquisition consolidates the group’s presence in the Italian market, providing a solid basis for collaboration with the FIGC.
The new partner will provide energy to the activities of the national teams, including training facilities and international trips. The FIGC expects that the collaboration can help improve the operational conditions of the Azzurri groups.
