Norwich City sign Jamaica winger Andre Brooks five-year deal
Norwich City have completed the signing of 22‑year‑old Jamaican winger Andre Brooks from Championship rivals Sheffield United, securing him on a five‑year contract. Brooks, who made 39 Championship appearances last season and 96 senior appearances overall with nine goals, arrives as the Canaries’ second summer acquisition.
Brooks entered Sheffield United’s academy at eight years old, progressing through the ranks before breaking into the first team. His development at the club laid the foundation for the experience he brings to Norwich.
The winger’s move follows manager Philippe Clement’s recent loan signing of Brazilian defender Bruno Alves, marking Brooks as the second addition to the squad this summer. Alves’ loan was confirmed last week, adding experienced defensive cover to the roster. Clement’s recruitment strategy appears focused on adding depth across the defensive and attacking flanks.
Speaking to the Norwich City website, Brooks explained, “Speaking to the gaffer and all of the staff, their ambitions and goals for the season really appealed to me.” He added that as a winger he expects to operate on both sides, attack and defend, and will “try to help him and the team as much as I can.”
Norwich finished ninth in the Championship last season, ending eight points shy of the play‑offs after having been third from bottom at the start of 2026. The club hopes the new signings will improve their standing in the upcoming campaign.
The Canaries will open the new season at home against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, 15 August. The fixture provides an early test of the squad’s cohesion following the summer additions.
