Patricia Pfanner joins FK Austria Wien on three-year deal
Patricia Pfanner, the 22‑year‑old Austrian forward, has signed a three‑year contract with FK Austria Wien, joining the club ahead of the new season after four years at First Vienna FC. The deal runs until 2028 and adds depth to Austria Wien’s attacking options.
The 22‑year‑old arrives in Favoriten on a contract that runs until 2028. Pfanner brings proven experience in the Austrian top flight and adds further depth and flexibility to Austria Wien’s attacking options after a knee‑injury comeback in 2024.
Born in Vorarlberg, Pfanner began her football journey in Lauterach before joining FFC Vorderland in 2018. Later that year, at just 15, she moved to St. Pölten to attend the Austrian Football Association’s Women’s Academy.
She spent two seasons with USV Neulengbach before signing for First Vienna FC in 2022. During her four years there she helped the club secure a second‑place league finish in 2024.
A serious knee injury in 2024 sidelined Pfanner for roughly a year, but she returned to action and recorded 11 goals and eight assists in 24 league and cup appearances in the 2025/26 campaign. Her performance underlined her quality in the final third.
Pfanner said, “I’m convinced this is exactly the right step for me. The club’s development and ambitions speak for themselves and ultimately convinced me to make the move.” She added she is excited to meet her new teammates and can’t wait to get out on the pitch.
Head Coach Stefan Kenesei welcomed the signing, stating, “We’ve been watching Patricia Pfanner for quite some time and have closely followed her development. Her comeback after injury has been particularly impressive, with 19 points in 24 games she underlines her quality in the final third.” He highlighted her ability to play several attacking positions and her positive personality.
Pfanner becomes the latest addition as Austria Wien continues to build for the future, adding a dynamic and versatile attacking player with both experience and significant potential.
