Switzerland national team arrives in USA for World Cup
The Swiss national team landed in the USA 11 days before their opening Group match. They arrived via a flight marked with a red cross.
Switzerland will face Canada, Honduras, and Uruguay in Group A. Their first match is scheduled for June 15.
Head coach Murat Yakin confirmed the team’s preparation schedule upon arrival. Goalkeeper Yann Sommer joined the squad for the journey.
Defender Manuel Akanji and midfielder Granit Xhaka are included in the 26-man squad. Both players trained with the team during the flight.
The Swiss delegation includes staff and medical personnel. They will base their preparation in the USA ahead of the tournament.
