Diomande hints at Liverpool move as Leipzig spurns €100m offer

Yan Diomande has signalled a possible move to Liverpool after posting photos from a Roc Nation event in the United States that featured the LFC hashtag, while RB Leipzig reportedly rejected Liverpool’s opening €100 million offer. The 19‑year‑old winger, praised for his pace and versatility, is seen as a rare option for the Reds' wide positions. Diomande, only 19, has already drawn attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs because of his output and underlying numbers. His ability to consistently create chances, beat defenders and contribute goals at such a young age marks him as an exciting attacking talent. He combines pace, direct running and technical skill, allowing him to threaten teams both in transition and in possession. His flexibility to operate on either wing adds a valuable option for a Liverpool side still evolving its squad. Andoni Iraola, Liverpool’s head coach, seeks intensity, aggressive pressing and attackers who can isolate defenders one‑v‑one. Diomande ticks those boxes with his speed and willingness to take on opponents. While Michael Olise at Bayern Munich and Lamine Yamal at Barcelona represent the gold standard among young wide forwards, neither is realistically available. Bayern Munich have no intention of selling Olise and Barcelona view Yamal as the cornerstone of their future. Liverpool therefore view Diomande as a long‑term replacement for Mohamed Salah. RB Leipzig turned down Liverpool’s opening €100 million offer, while a recent Moises Caicedo case shows the club may need to meet elite fees to secure a young talent.
