Fabrizio Romano Confirms Alisson Becker Will Stay at Liverpool
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Alisson Becker will remain at Liverpool. The goalkeeper had been linked with a move to Juventus before the report. The confirmation comes as Liverpool prepare for the 2026/27 season.
Liverpool have already lost Ibrahima Konate, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson. All three players left the club ahead of the next season. Their departures heightened speculation about Alisson’s future.
Juventus are now reported to be targeting Emiliano Martinez instead of Alisson. Alisson’s contract was extended to June 2027 after Liverpool triggered a one‑year option in March 2026. The extension gives Liverpool the ability to keep him for at least another season.
Alisson is part of Brazil’s 26‑man squad for the 2026 World Cup. He is expected to feature in Brazil’s Group C matches. The tournament will conclude before he returns to Merseyside.
After the World Cup, Alisson is set to rejoin Liverpool for the 2026/27 campaign. The club will be led by new head coach Andoni Iraola. Iraola will oversee a period of significant squad transition.
