Hansi Flick’s fitness coach Holger Broich declines Barcelona role

Hansi Flick’s preferred fitness coach Holger Broich has rejected a move to FC Barcelona. Julio Tous was removed as FC Barcelona’s head of physical preparation, prompting Flick to seek a new leader after relapses involving winger Raphinha last season. Broich, who worked with Flick during the successful Bayern Munich spell, was among the first names linked to replace Tous because of his role in Bayern Munich’s performance and conditioning programmes. According to his brand adviser Sven Kraft, Flick expressed interest but Broich had already committed to a collaboration with the Schwarz Group, citing ambitions that extend beyond traditional football‑fitness roles. FC Barcelona retains fitness staff members Pepe Conde, Rafa Maldonado and German Fernandez, but a permanent replacement for Tous remains unappointed.
