Ibrahima Konaté signs four-year contract with Real Madrid
Ibrahima Konaté has agreed to a four-year contract with Real Madrid.
The 27‑year‑old French defender will leave Liverpool after the club confirmed his exit at the end of May.
His departure follows a failure to renew his contract, making him a free agent this summer.
Chelsea and Paris Saint‑Germain were reported as interested, but Konaté chose Real Madrid.
The deal was delayed by the Spanish club’s presidential election, which concluded with Florentino Perez’s re‑election.
José Mourinho’s own move to the Bernabéu was similarly held up by the election.
Konaté’s contract runs until the summer of 2030 and he will join the Spanish side after the World Cup.
