Man City eye Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha
Manchester City have been linked with a move to bring back Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha this summer. The 25‑year‑old German recorded five goals and three assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund last season.
A report in says the Mancunian giants are actively pursuing the German talent. Nmecha is described as one of the best central midfielders in the Bundesliga.
Nmecha’s contract with Borussia Dortmund runs until the summer of 2030, which could complicate any immediate transfer. The length of the deal means Manchester City would need to negotiate a substantial fee to secure his services before the window closes.
The midfielder combines defensive work rate with the ability to strike from distance and deliver decisive passes in the final third. His movement around the opposition penalty area also allows him to contribute goals and create chances.
Nmecha can operate as a box‑to‑box player, a defensive midfielder or a number‑ten when instructed by his manager. His versatility would give Manchester City additional tactical options in the Premier League.
During the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group E match against Curacao, Nmecha celebrated the team’s fifth goal on 14 June 2026 in Houston, Texas. The image of the celebration was captured by photographer Alexander Hassenstein.
If the transfer materialises, Nmecha would add quality and depth to Manchester City’s midfield at the Etihad Stadium. His inclusion would give the English club a fresh option ahead of the next Premier League season.
