Victoria Pelova joins Tottenham Hotspur on free transfer
Tottenham Hotspur have secured the signing of 27‑year‑old Dutch midfielder Victoria Pelova from Arsenal on a free transfer, announced in an official club press release this afternoon. The move was confirmed by WSL Full‑Time, which received the information from The Lilywhites.
Pelova spent three‑and‑a‑half years with The Gunners, during which she collected the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, the UEFA Women’s Champions League and two Subway Women’s League Cups. Her tenure in London ended with the expiry of her contract at Arsenal.
In all competitions for Arsenal, the midfielder made 89 appearances and scored six goals. Those figures underline her regular role in the squad over the period.
On the international stage, Pelova has been capped 71 times by The Netherlands, finding the net seven times for her country. Her experience adds depth to Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield options.
After signing, Pelova said, “It feels nice to be here, I had a lovely welcome from everyone. When I had conversations with Martin Ho, he was so good. It felt immediately right to go to Spurs. I can’t wait for the season, and I’m so happy to be here.” The quote was given in the club’s announcement.
Pelova becomes Spurs’ fourth signing of the summer transfer window. The North Londoners have already added Shekiera Martinez, Caitlin Dijkstra and Kirsty Hanson to their squad.
Spurs had agreed most of their transfer deals going into the close season.
