After the flop in Monaco, Paul Pogba targets a comeback in MLS

After his unsuccessful stint at AS Monaco, the 33‑year‑old French midfielder, Paul Pogba, is free of any contract and is exploring the possibility of a fresh start in Major League Soccer. Sources indicate that MLS would be the most serious option to date, while other destinations, such as Saudi Arabia, seem less likely.

A stint at Monaco that never took off

Arriving at Monaco in the summer of 2025, Pogba only featured in six matches across all competitions before leaving the club last August. His recurring injuries and lack of rhythm limited his impact, far from the expectations placed on the 2018 World Cup champion.

American clubs already interested

Several MLS teams are said to have shown interest in the player, including DC United, former club of Christian Benteke, and Inter Miami, where Lionel Messi plays. Since the end of his Monaco adventure, he has been offered to these clubs, but no concrete progress has yet been announced.

The newspaper notes that, despite the interest, no firm offer has yet been concluded, leaving Pogba's future in uncertainty. His expressed desire is to find a project that would excite him, even if it means leaving Europe.

A future still unclear

The player, nicknamed “the Pickaxe”, remains a prominent figure in world football, but his next chapter will depend on negotiations with the American clubs. His lack of playing time at Monaco and his frequent injuries could cool some teams, who are assessing the risks before committing.

For now, no definitive decision has been made, and Pogba continues to look for a challenge that would allow him to revive his career and improve his situation.
