Allegri may waive Milan severance to join Napoli

Massimiliano Allegri could waive the severance owed by Milan to take the vacant head‑coach role at Napoli, replacing Antonio Conte on a two‑year deal. Allegri was dismissed the day after the 2025‑26 season ended and would have earned €5 million in the second year of his Milan contract, which expires next summer. Napoli is set to pay him €4.5 million per year. Milan have offered €500,000 in severance, the gap between the two salaries, after Allegri’s initial request of €2 million for himself and €3 million for his staff. With pre‑season approaching and no settlement reached, reports say Allegri may forgo any severance to join Napoli within weeks. A photo of Allegri reacting during a Serie A match between Genoa CFC and AC Milan on 17 May 2026 was taken by Simone Arveda.
