American fans buy unofficial Belgium shirts near SoFi Stadium

American supporters crowded SoFi Stadium on Sunday, many wearing Belgian shirts despite uncertainty over their official status. The venue was almost full, yet the crowd was not composed of Belgians.

SoFi Stadium, the site of the Belgium‑Iran match, saw a surge of American fans in Belgian colours. The shirts were not necessarily licensed by the national team.

A store in downtown Los Angeles priced an official Belgium shirt at about $100. On match day around the stadium the same shirt rose to roughly 130 euros.

Tickets for the Belgium‑Iran fixtures command prices ranging from several hundred to thousands of dollars. This high cost makes the shirt price appear modest by comparison.

Street vendors near the stadium offered unofficial "Rode Duivels" shirts for $40. Those shirts sold quickly, described as moving like "sweet rolls" over the counter.

The primary buyers were Americans, with notable numbers of Mexican and Iranian supporters also purchasing the shirts. Iranian fans displayed similar shirts bearing the lion‑and‑sun flag, which were less popular among the American audience.

Romelu Lukaku later provided an update on his fitness and preferred position, as reported in a related article. His comments were highlighted alongside the shirt‑selling story.
