Barcelona aim to extend Ferran Torres' contract
Barcelona are set to extend the contract of Spanish international Ferran Torres, whose deal runs until 2027 and is entering its final year.
Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with Torres, naming him the ideal replacement for the unsettled Bradley Barcola. Earlier speculation linked Torres to a possible exchange for Julian Alvarez, but indications now suggest no such deal will materialise. Torres has repeatedly said he wants to remain at Barcelona.
Under coach Hansi Flick, Torres recorded 21 goals and three assists in 49 appearances across all competitions, boosting his market value and cementing his role after Robert Lewandowski’s departure.
With the World Cup approaching, Barcelona see Torres as a potential primary striker; he is expected to start against Cape Verde while Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams and Victor Munoz cope with physical discomforts.
