Cape verde's Vozinha secures move to chile's Colo Colo after World Cup

One of the breakout stars at the World Cup, the 40‑year‑old Vozinha became one of the most talked‑about players after a string of remarkable saves against eventual champion Spain and defending champion Argentina.
“Welcome. We’re waiting for you,” the club wrote Friday on its social media pages, sparking excitement among Colo Colo supporters and across Chile, where the national team failed to qualify for a third consecutive World Cup.
Aníbal Mosa, president of Blanco y Negro, confirmed that the goalkeeper, who had no contract during the World Cup, will travel to Chile in the next few days, undergo medical examinations and be presented at the Estadio Monumental in Santiago.
Local media reported that the contract runs for 18 months, securing the veteran’s services for the upcoming seasons.
Josimar Dias, better known as Vozinha, led Cape Verde to a strong run in the tournament until losing to Lionel Messi’s Argentina 3‑2 in extra time in the round of 32.
