Claudia Pina stays out of training due to muscle soreness
At the historic Camp Nou, where Barça thrashed Real Madrid with a decisive 7‑0, the joy was dampened when forward Claudia Pina, the hero of the win, was put under medical tests for a muscle problem that prevented her from training at the Football City in Las Rozas.
Injuries that shake the national team
Shortly after, it was confirmed that Cata Coll is withdrawing from the Spanish women's national team for the friendlies in the United States on October 10 and 14, after suffering quadriceps problems. The information, gathered by journalist José Luis Artús, was accompanied by a photograph of Camp Nou taken by Alex Caparros and distributed by Getty, which showed Barça's decisive 7‑0 over Real Madrid.
At the same time, FC Barcelona forward Claudia Pina was put under medical tests for a muscle issue, which prevented her from training in the first training session at the Football City in Las Rozas. The diagnosis is still pending, but the player will remain under medical observation.
Sonia Bermúdez, head of training, was able to work with 22 of the 25 called-up footballers, while Oihane Hernández of Orlando Pride will join the squad directly in the United States without attending the Las Rozas session. Her absence adds to that of Cata Coll and Claudia Pina, reducing the number of players available for the first friendly.
To cover Cata Coll's absence, goalkeeper Eunate Astralaga of Athletic Club Bilbao was called up as a replacement. However, Miquel Aniento reported that the keeper has not yet arrived in time to train with the group.
The Spanish squad departs this Tuesday for American soil, beginning preparation for the matches against the United States.
