Galatasaray intensify push for Frankfurt's Can Uzun ahead of new season

In the bustling offices of Galatasaray, the Turkish Süper Lig champions are intensifying talks to sign 20‑year‑old Turkish international Can Uzun, with the club having already agreed personal terms and a four‑plus‑one‑year deal worth €35 million fixed plus €5 million in add‑ons.

Can Uzun can operate as an attacking midfielder, winger or secondary striker, giving Galatasaray a versatile option across the front line. His adaptability has placed him among the prime targets as the Süper Lig champions prepare for the new campaign.

According to Fotomaç, Galatasaray have already reached agreement on personal terms with Uzun’s representatives. Uzun has agreed in principle to a four‑plus‑one‑year contract with the Istanbul side, and his family is reported to favour a move to the Rams Park outfit.

Despite the personal agreement, finalising the transfer with Eintracht Frankfurt remains the last obstacle. Both clubs continue intensive negotiations to close the transaction.

Galatasaray have submitted an improved package worth €35 million fixed plus €5 million in add‑ons. The proposal also includes a 20 % sell‑on clause on any future transfer profit.

Eintracht Frankfurt initially set their asking price above €40 million, reflecting Uzun’s estimated €45 million market value. The German side has been reluctant to lower their financial demands.

Galatasaray executives are taking a patient approach, confident that ongoing talks will bridge the remaining financial gap. They believe the negotiations can resolve the valuation difference.

Uzun impressed against Galatasaray during last season’s European competition, recording 10 goals and five assists across all competitions in the 2025–26 campaign. Manager Okan Buruk views the signing as key to strengthening squad depth for both domestic and European campaigns, making the acquisition of the 2005‑born talent a primary objective for the current transfer window.
