Giulian Biancone set to join RSC Anderlecht for €3‑4m

French defender Giulian Biancone, 26, is poised to become RSC Anderlecht's first summer signing, with the club reportedly offering €3 million plus bonuses up to €4 million, and the player already spotted at Lotto Park. The move follows his recent spell at Olympiakos after a season at Nottingham Forest, and comes as the club searches for a new head coach.

RSC Anderlecht has not yet announced a head coach, but director Antoine Sibierski already has several transfer targets on his radar. Biancone appears on Sibierski's list and is expected to sign a contract with the Belgian side.

The 26‑year‑old central defender was photographed in front of Lotto Park, suggesting the club is preparing an official announcement. His presence at the stadium indicates the deal is close to being finalized.

Biancone featured in the Jupiler Pro League with Cercle de Bruges from 2019 to 2021, arriving on two consecutive loans from AS Monaco. He then transferred to ESTAC Troyes in 2021, continuing his development in France.

After an impressive Ligue 1 campaign as a right‑back, he moved to Nottingham Forest for a reported €10 million fee. A serious knee injury subsequently limited his playing time for most of the season.

In 2023 he returned to full fitness with Olympiakos, where he was repositioned as a central defender. RSC Anderlecht is said to have placed a €3 million bid that could rise to €4 million with bonuses, while RC Lens also expressed interest, citing its Champions League qualification as leverage. Sacha Tavolieri, a market specialist, commented: "Un accord entre toutes les parties serait proche."

The club still awaits the appointment of a permanent head coach, a factor that could influence Biancone's integration into the squad.
