KAA Gent signs 18‑year‑old Panamanian striker Josué Vergara

Belgian side KAA Gent have completed the signing of 18‑year‑old Panamanian forward Josué Vergara from Latvian club FK Auda, securing him on a five‑year deal that runs until the summer of 2030. The 1.96‑metre target man arrived after netting 13 goals and three assists in 17 matches for Auda.

During his short spell in Latvia, Vergara proved prolific, scoring 13 times and providing three assists across 17 league appearances. His rapid adaptation made him one of the season's standout performers in the competition.

Operational director Kjeld Fort introduced the new signing, stating: "The arrival of Vergara fits perfectly within our sporting strategy." The announcement was made at Gent's official presentation of the player.
