Marc Casado poised to leave Barcelona before pre-season

Marc Casado is increasingly likely to leave FC Barcelona before the squad begins pre‑season on 13 July. The club wants to settle his future early in the summer window. Barcelona will start preparations for the 2026/27 campaign on 13 July. The first medical group will be limited because several first‑team players are still at the World Cup. Players scheduled to return first include Wojciech Szczesny, Alejandro Balde, Gerard Martin, Marc Bernal and Casado. Casado has accepted that regular football at Barcelona has become difficult after slipping down the pecking order. Both player and club are now open to a separation this summer. The most advanced option is a move to AS Monaco, with reports of an agreement already in place. Agent Jorge Mendes has temporarily paused the Monaco deal as the midfielder could become part of a different transaction linked to Barcelona’s pursuit of Joao Cancelo from Al‑Hilal. Under that scenario Casado could head to Saudi Arabia.
