Nathaniel Brown scores on World Cup debut for Germany
Nathaniel Brown, 22, started his first FIFA World Cup match for Germany against Curaçao. The Eintracht Frankfurt defender assisted Nico Schlotterbeck before scoring Germany's fourth goal. Coach Julian Nagelsmann had given Brown his maiden World Cup appearance two days before his 23rd birthday.
Brown described the goal as indescribable and said his family was in the stadium. He added that teammates congratulated him and urged him to keep going. Arsenal forward Kai Havertz praised Brown’s daily work rate and called his performance outstanding. Havertz also highlighted Brown’s humility, noting “Nene gives his all every day on the training pitch.” Daniel Pinder reported the story.
