New Bayern contract: Kane demands exit clause and matching right
In the FC Bayern office in Munich, Harry Kane and the club officials are sitting to negotiate a new contract. The signs between Harry Kane and FC Bayern apparently point to an extension, but the 33‑year‑old English striker demands two special clauses before he signs.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the forward is demanding a release clause that would allow him a later move back to the Premier League. In addition, his former club Tottenham Hotspur should receive a so‑called matching right, enabling them to match a Bayern offer.
Romano does not see the demands as a negotiation brake. „It’s really, really getting closer. I think it will work out, it’s just around the corner“, he said with confidence.
Contract length until 2030
In addition to the clauses, an unusually long contract length is being discussed. Despite his age of 33, the new deal could run until 2029 or even 2030.
Tottenham face disappointment as Bayern draw near to Kane deal
Bayern supervisory board member Karl‑Heinz Rummenigge emphasized that the club had previously only offered one‑year contracts to players over 30. „But there are exceptions when you are convinced by a player – and that’s the case with Harry“, he explained.
Kane confirmed that the talks are progressing positively. „We are still in talks and I think they are developing in the right direction“, said the English national team captain.
Before the signature is made, the final details still need to be sorted out, but the negotiations appear to be close to completion.
