Orlando City offers Santiago Giménez €5m as Milan seeks exit

AC Milan appear set to part ways with 25‑year‑old striker Santiago Giménez after 18 months, as the MLS side Orlando City prepares a megacontract. The American club is reportedly willing to pay a €5 million annual salary, roughly double the striker’s current earnings in Milan. Giménez has made 37 appearances for AC Milan, scoring six goals in the red‑black shirt. His tenure began after a February 2025 transfer from Feyenoord to Serie A. New Milan coach Ruben Amorin has indicated a preference for a different type of forward, club’s assessment describes Giménez’s spell as a major disappointment. Since joining Milan, Giménez has found the net only seven times across all competitions. He has failed to score in the current season. Orlando City is said to be ready to open all registers to secure Giménez’s signing. The MLS franchise proposes a yearly wage of about €5 million, exclusive of bonuses. That figure is reportedly twice the salary Giménez receives in Milan. His transfer value remains set at €30 million despite the limited impact. Giménez is currently with the Mexico national team at the World Cup, where Mexico have reached the knockout stage. He was substituted in the final moments of the 1‑0 victory over South Korea. If Orlando City finalises the contract, Giménez could leave Milan before the summer window closes. The deal would mark a swift exit after less than two years.
