Real Madrid President Perez faces rejection on €150m targets
Real Madrid President Florentino Perez was re‑elected on Sunday night with 65% of the vote, defeating rival Enrique Riqulme and extending his mandate at least until 2029. Members now await the delivery of his election promises, including a €150 million bid for a midfielder or forward. Paris Saint‑Germain and Bayern Munich have already signalled they will not sell their targets.
Perez has already secured the signings of Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate and Inter player Denzel Dumfries. Jose Mourinho will be appointed as his next manager.
Vitinha has been reported as a dream signing for Real Madrid, but PSG have indicated no intention to sell him. PSG teammate Joao Neves is also on the three‑man shortlist, yet his agent Jorge Mendes says he will not push the deal because of his relationship with PSG president Nasser Al‑Khelaifi. Bayern Munich star Michael Olise is the third name, but Bayern president Herbert Hainer publicly rejected any suggestion of a sale, even for a €200 million offer.
In the last 24 hours, Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has emerged as a possible alternative for the €150 million bid. Real Madrid’s pursuit therefore faces resistance from both PSG and Bayern Munich.
