Real Madrid push to finalize Dani Ceballos exit
Real Madrid are looking to complete the departure of 29‑year‑old midfielder Dani Ceballos quickly. The club has been linked with a move to his former side Real Betis, while Dutch side Ajax have also been mentioned as a possible destination. Both options are being considered as Real Madrid prepares its summer transfer agenda.
Dani Ceballos fell out of favour after Alvaro Arbeloa excluded him from the squad last season. He enters the final year of his contract with Real Madrid, prompting the club to seek an early resolution. Jose Mourinho, who is reshaping the squad, wants the situation settled before the window closes.
Real Betis have expressed interest in re‑signing Ceballos, and the player has indicated a desire to return to the Andalusian club. However, the transfer will only proceed if the financial terms are acceptable. Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis are prioritising player exits before committing to new arrivals.
Ajax are also pursuing Ceballos and could alter the negotiation dynamics if they present a faster or more favourable offer. Despite the Dutch interest, Ceballos appears to prefer a move back to Real Betis for personal reasons. He left Betis nine years ago to join Real Madrid, adding emotional weight to a potential return.
Finalising the deal would give Ceballos a fresh start, free up a squad place for Real Madrid, and avoid another season of uncertainty. The pace of Real Betis’ negotiations may require patience from all parties.
