Roma's summer agenda: left‑back hunt and Alajbegovic revival

🇮🇹

Roma will officially convene at Trigoria on July 13 to launch the new season, with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini beginning the camp with physical tests, initial tactical guidance and a preliminary assessment of the squad. The meeting marks the first official gathering of the Giallorossi ahead of their Champions League campaign.

Gasperini arrives with a fairly clear idea of the squad’s needs, highlighting a priority to sign a left‑back to complete the attacking formation. The position is deemed essential for the coach’s tactical blueprint.

The management is concentrating on several areas and aims to reach the training camp with at least some final guidelines already set. These guidelines are expected to shape the squad’s composition before the season starts.

Gasperini hopes that by July 13 concrete news will emerge not only about the attacking department but also regarding other situations currently under evaluation. He expects the club to have clearer direction on multiple fronts by the start of camp.

Among the names being monitored is Greenwood, identified as a potential addition to boost the quality and depth of the attack. His signing would be a clear sign of ambition as Roma prepares for a Champions League return after seven years.

The club is also increasing interest in young winger Kerim Alajbegovic, whose technical abilities and growth prospects are praised. He is viewed as a useful solution for both the short and medium term.

Roma have rekindled contacts with Alajbegovic’s agents, but Bayer Leverkusen’s demands are not particularly favorable. Evaluations of the possible move are underway at Trigoria.
