Royal Antwerp pursues Luxembourg defender Seid Korac

Seid Korac, the 24‑year‑old Luxembourg international who spent last season at Serbian side Vojvodina, is being pursued by Royal Antwerp FC this summer despite a contract running to 2030. His former interest from Standard Liège a year ago and a recent stint with a Serie B club near Venice have left him open to a move.

A year ago Marc Wilmots listed Seid Korac as one of his top defensive priorities at Standard Liège.

After the Standard interest, Korac signed with a Serie B club on the side of Venice. He began as a starter but lost his place in October, while the side continued to perform, eventually clinching the title and securing promotion to Serie A.

Korac’s contract runs until 2030, which authorises him to seek a new club despite being under contract. This contractual clause gives him freedom to explore options this summer.

According to TuttoMercato, Royal Antwerp FC – the Great Old – have shown interest in reviving Korac’s career this summer. The Belgian club faces a considerable rebuild after a season well below expectations, compounded by the departures of Zeno Van Den Bosche to Union Berlin and Kiki Kouyaté to Al‑Khaleej.

Istanbul Basaksehir is also reported to be monitoring Korac’s situation. Sporting director Marc Overmars will have to navigate the pursuit with a modest transfer budget.

With his contract still in force, Korac’s next destination remains undecided as clubs assess his availability.
