Standard Liège appoints Kevin Miny as new physical trainer

Standard Liège is set to bolster its backroom staff with the appointment of Kevin Miny as a third physical trainer, joining Yves Depulvrez and Valentin Dejaghere under head coach Vincent Euvrard, while former defender Dimitri Lavalée prepares for a medical return. Kevin Miny has already spent eight years at Standard Liège, from 2017 through 2025, working as a physical trainer. During that period he served under coaches Ricardo Sa Pinto, Michel Preud'Homme, Philippe Montanier, Mbaye Leye, Luka Elsner, Ronny Deila, Carl Hoefkens and Ivan Leko. Miny also knows Marc Wilmots, having collaborated with the former Belgium manager during a brief stint with the Iranian national team. Wilmots’ familiarity with Miny gives the club’s sporting director confidence in the new hire. Vincent Euvrard’s staff will now comprise three physical trainers: Yves Depulvrez, who was already present last season, Valentin Dejaghere, and the newly arrived Kevin Miny. The trio will share responsibilities for conditioning the first‑team squad. Defender Dimitri Lavalée, a native of Soumagne, has been playing for Sturm Graz in Austria since September 2023. An agreement has been reached for his return to Standard Liège, pending medical examinations. Lavalée has not featured since November after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture. Kevin Miny oversaw the defender’s rehabilitation and will support his comeback at the club. The sporting director believes the reinforced staff can help minimise the injury‑laden season experienced last year. A younger squad is also expected to benefit from the improved medical and conditioning support.
