Union Saint-Gilloise signs Romanian midfielder Darius Olaru until 2030

Union Saint-Gilloise have completed the signing of 28-year-old Romanian attacking midfielder Darius Olaru, who arrives from Steaua Bucarest on a contract that runs until June 2030, and brings 22 caps for the Romanian national team and European experience, including 13 goals and 6 assists in 40 continental matches. Olaru spent six and a half seasons at Steaua Bucarest, where he eventually became the team captain. He arrived from FCSB and expressed a desire to compete in the Ligue des Champions, a goal that aligns with Union Saint-Gilloise's upcoming European campaign. The Romanian international has earned 22 appearances for his country. In European competition he has recorded 13 goals and six assists across 40 matches, and he featured against Belgium at Euro 2024.
