Ferran Torres rejects PSG link, focuses on World Cup
Ferran Torres, the Barcelona forward, has dismissed speculation that Paris Saint-Germain are pursuing him. He said he knows nothing about PSG and is not interested, keeping his focus on Spain’s World Cup campaign.
Torres spoke ahead of Spain’s opening World Cup match against Cape Verde in Atlanta. With Lamine Yamal doubtful to start because of fitness concerns, Torres is likely to occupy the right wing for La Roja. Hansi Flick, Spain’s coach, selected Torres as one of the team’s captains for the tournament.
His current contract with FC Barcelona runs until June 2027, and the club’s sporting department is expected to discuss his long‑term future in the coming months. The rumours linked PSG’s interest to a possible replacement for Bradley Barcola, who could depart the French side this summer.
Torres finished the season with 21 goals, sharing La Liga’s Zarra Trophy with Lamine Yamal as the competition’s top Spanish scorers. Following Robert Lewandowski’s exit, Barcelona view Torres as a key figure in attack for the next season.
