Real Madrid's Olise chase meets Bayern's firm resistance

🇩🇪
Real Madrid have been linked with a summer move for Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, 25, but France teammate Dayot Upamecano said on Saturday he will stay in Bavaria this summer. President Florentino Perez has identified him as a leading target, while Bayern have absolutely no plans to sell him. Olise is widely regarded as one of the best attacking talents currently, prompting Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to list him among the club’s primary targets. The Spanish giants possess the financial muscle to meet Bayern’s reported demand for a world‑record fee. Bayern Munich, however, have made clear they are not entertaining a sale, with teammate Dayot Upamecano reiterating to reporters via Diario AS on Saturday that the French winger “is staying, is staying” in Bavaria this summer. Reports suggest Olise is hesitant to sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena, a reluctance that could eventually enable a transfer if his current deal expires. Such uncertainty fuels speculation in the transfer market. Coach José Mourinho has indicated that Real Madrid must first secure a centre‑back and a midfielder, priorities that would consume a large share of the club’s transfer budget. Even if funds remain for Olise later, pursuing him could jeopardise the institutional relationship with Bayern, a risk Florentino Perez is unwilling to accept. Consequently, Bayern appear set to keep their prized winger for the coming season, while Real Madrid will need to redirect their spending toward other positions, at least until Olise’s contract situation clarifies.
