Václav Cerny attracts Rangers, Feyenoord, Hoffenheim

A Thursday rumour from Turkey says former Ajax forward Václav Cerny, now at Turkish side Beşiktaş, has sparked interest from Rangers, Feyenoord and German Hoffenheim. Last season Cerny logged thirty appearances, netting five goals and delivering eight assists.

Ajax signed Václav Cerny in the winter of 2014 as a sixteen‑year‑old prospect. The Czech forward never broke through in Amsterdam, partly because of recurring injuries.

Cerny later moved to FC Utrecht and FC Twente before joining VfL Wolfsburg, then Rangers, and is now on the books of Turkish side Beşiktaş.

In the most recent season he featured in thirty matches, scoring five goals and providing eight assists.

Feyenoord have been scouting a wing option after the anticipated exit of Anis Hadj Moussa. Earlier the Rotterdam club was also linked with NEC midfielder Sami Ouaissa.

Despite interest from Rangers, Feyenoord and Hoffenheim, the current consensus suggests Cerny is likely to remain at Beşiktaş for the foreseeable future.

The speculation was first reported by Spor Depor on Thursday. Spor Depor is the outlet that broke the story.
